Worship Together

by Lyndall Jones - Worship Pastor
Hi CHBC family!

We are in full swing now with all things summer! VBS just finished (and it was an amazing time for our church), we have Super Summer this week with our youth, CrossTimbers next week with our kids, and then Falls Creek the next week! That's a LOT!

With all these camps and things our kids and youth will end up hearing a lot of different music and worship elements than what they might be used to at our church. Different music styles, louder volumes, more stage lighting, and being with an audience almost entirely their age is a big shift from the norm. We might even hear some songs that will make their way back to us and our Sunday services, if they are quality songs that will drive us to worship God well.

But, you know what isn't any different and will never change? God and our need to worship Him with all we are. We need to raise our voices in song (Ephesians 5:19 and Colossians 3:16) and offer ourselves back to Him every day and every time we gather (Romans 12:1). No matter what the style is, the song that is sung, or the ambience of the room we worship in, it is our duty and our honor to worship God. Each song we do at Chisholm, whether it is a hymn or a chorus, is for ALL of us to sing and make much of God together. I love seeing the body of Christ worship together in this way. I hope you do, too!

Let's do this together this Sunday!

Soli Deo Gloria,
Lyndall
