“Peace”
It’s a commonly understood practice. If I wrong someone, I need to pay the
price to make up for it. If I back into their car, I pay to fix it. If I drop the
vase, I pay for it. But what if the cost is too high? Usually, it means a debt
is owed, and the relationship is strained.
Such is the power of the Gospel. To pay the price of my wrongs, I find
myself bankrupt. Unpaid sin means a broken relationship. But as God sent
Jesus into the world, and the debt has been paid. Surrendered to Christ,
the peace beyond my ability to comprehend, pervades my life.
