I heard this term today for the first time. I was not sure what it meant, but soon found out it is a marketing term for the time the stores roll out the fall decorations and much anticipated pumpkin spice everything.
Fall is an exciting time. Schools are starting back, football is right around the corner, and several things are happening in the life of our church.
Mission Trip to Africa
A team of 5 will head to Africa to work with Rob and Laura Flaherty, August 28 – September 8. Rob and Laura have sent a wish list of things they would like from America. If you would like to help send them a few things, there will be a display in the Welcome Center starting today (Wednesday, August 14) with some things that they would like to have. Just pull the slip of paper and purchase the item, return the item to the Welcome Center by Sunday August 25th, and the team will take the items with them to Africa. If you would like to send them a note place the envelope by the display in the Welcome Center.
Nearly and Newlywed Class
On Sunday, September 8th we have exciting things happening. We have a new Sunday morning Bible study starting, it’s a Nearly and Newlywed class. The class is for those couples that are engaged or recently married in the last few years. During this time of life there is a lot of learning and adjustments made, and being able to navigate that with others going through the same thing often helps. The leaders for this class are Jerry and Robin Gomez and Shari Henderson. For more information about this class please contact the church office.
Kids Worship
On Sunday September 8th Kids Worship will return. After the singing portion of the service children in grades 1st – 3rd will be dismissed to Robin and will proceed to the children’s building for their worship time. Please contact Robin Roady for more information.
Fantasy Football
It would not be fall without football, well that’s my opinion at least. This year CHBC has a fun way for us all to fellowship together through Fantasy Football. Whether you are a seasoned veteran or a first year rookie you can be a part of CHBC Fantasy Football. Just Click Here to sign up and our commissioner Chris Watkins will contact you with all the details. There will be a prize for the winner and also something for the lucky person that finishes last.
Tailgate Cookoff
All of you that love to cook and show off your talents on the grill, our annual Tailgate Cookoff will be Sunday, September 29th at 5:30 pm. If you would like to enter the cookoff contact the church office to sign up. There will also be a volleyball and cornhole tournament.
